Translate your product finder in 7 steps

Do you want customers in different countries to use your product finder? In Aiden, you can select the desired language for each product finder . Currently we support the following languages: Dutch, English, German, Danish, French, Italian and Spanish. Selecting a language affects the default texts of product finder, such as the "Next" and "Start over" buttons. You determine the questions, answers and other texts yourself in Conversation.

If you want to publish a product finder in multiple languages, we recommend that you finish it in one language first, then copy and translate the product finder .

❗Do you use import settings in Catalogue in your original product finder? Then make sure that the attribute and values match the original ones Γ³r remove the import settings before replacing the feed.

  1. Finish your original product finder and then copy it into Home (using Duplicate)

  2. Change the name and language setting of your copy in App Settings

  3. Translate the questions, answers and other texts in Conversation

  4. Make sure your (new) catalog includes localized URLs

  5. Are you using a product feed as a catalog? Make sure the product IDs are the same in your new catalog - that's how you maintain matching!

Roadmap

1. Complete the Conversation, Look & Feel and Matching of your original product finder.

2. Then copy it into Home (using Duplicate).

3. Change the name of the copy and select the desired language in App Settings. Save the changes.

4. The selected language is displayed in the product finder, e.g. in these places:

5. Replace the text in Conversation with text in the desired language.

6. Are the product URLs in the catalog the same for all languages because of an automatic redirect? Then you can continue to use the original catalog. Check your translated product finder with Preview. Are you satisfied? Then you can publish your app.

7. Do the product URLs in the original product finder contain a language indicator (such as .com/fr for a French website)? If so, replace the catalog.

Replace your product feed catalog

❗ Make sure the product IDs remain the same for each product in the feed. This way you maintain your matching and save a lot of time.

  • Go to Catalog. Do you use Import settings in your original product finder? Remove the current import settings if the attribute and values are different from those in the original feed.

  • Press the menu icon and select the 'Change feed URL' option.

  • Paste the new URL and click Save.

Are you using additional fields from your catalog in the advice screen? Make sure the contents of these fields have the correct language.

Replace your CSV catalog

❗ Make sure the product IDs remain the same for each product in the CSV. This way you maintain your matching and save a lot of time.

  • Go to Catalogue. Press the Update button and upload the new CSV catalog.

  • Review the changes and click the Next button.

  • Aiden automatically detects the currency notation in the new CSV. If necessary, you can change the currency in Catalogue.
