How it works
We recommend matching your catalog using matching rules as much as possible. In some situations this might not work well, for example if you don't have any attributes available in your feed that you can use to match a specific answer. Then manually link multiple products to answers at the same time. Here's how you do it:
1. In the Matching section, you can get to the Bulk match tab in two ways.
a. By clicking on the number of "unmatched products" associated with an answer in the Overview tab.
b. By clicking on the Bulk Match tab.
2. Select the answers you want to match in the left-hand section. You will then see the current matching scores for your products appear. Each new product has no matching yet. In the example below, we see that 6 out of 8 hiking boots have no matching yet for the answer 'A man'.
β
3. Next, select the products you want to match to that answer and choose what matching these products should receive to that answer; poor, neutral, good or perfect. Click Apply to confirm your matching.
Hiking shoes suitable for men are selected and given a perfect match for the answer 'A man'. After clicking Apply, a 'double checkmark' appears next to the shoes in the overview.
π‘ Good to know: It is usually easiest to start by matching all the products that perfectly match the selected answer and then continue with the good and bad matches.
Do you come across products while matching that don't belong in product finder? Read here how to (temporarily) deactivate products. Or use filter rules to exclude products from your catalog.

Handy: Use of filters
Bulk matching becomes even easier if you use filters to create segments (groups of "similar" products) in your product catalog. You can then select the filtered products with one click and then give the desired matching.
You can filter in Matching in two ways:
Catalogue filter
Use this to filter a group of products that contain a certain value in your catalog.
For example, all hiking boots suitable for children.
Matching filter
Use this to filter a group of products already linked to another answer.
For example, all products that have a poor match to the answer "A man".
Simply select all filtered products and click on bad, neutral, good or perfect! And don't forget to click Apply.
