Create a split in your conversation

Determining the order of your questions has a major influence on the quality of your product finder.

You use this when you want to present another follow-up question when your customer has chosen a specific answer. You can make this split in two ways:

1. Click on the question in which you want to start making a split and click on the Flow tab in the upper right.

2. Click on the 'menu' icon next to the answer and choose the Add an exception option.

For example, the standard flow looks like this:

In the example above, instead of "Mountain," you can choose any other question. In this way, you create a logical sequence in your conversation.

3. If you want to present another question after a specific answer, you can adjust the flow by clicking the '+ Exception' button.

The structure of an exception is as follows:

In the example below, we want to ask an additional question 'Mountain' when a customer has chosen the answer 'Challenging mountain hike'. That question is not relevant to customers who choose one of the other answers. We prefer to send those customers directly to the 'Needs' question.

For this we add an exception.

4. Have you not created a question yet to which you want the exception to go to? Then you can also create a new question on the spot when creating an exception by choosing '+ New question' in the dropdown.

5. Click on Preview to check if the order in your conversation and the exceptions work the way you had in mind.

Combining answers from different questions to create an exception is also possible. How that works? Consider the following example, in which customers who want to go on challenging trips through the mountains AND who are not looking for shoes for a child are first asked a question about their mountain hikes (Mountain) before moving on to the question about their needs (Needs).
