From January 25, 2025, new requirements will apply to event names in Spotler Activate. From that date, an event name may no longer contain spaces, among other things. Since Aiden events do contain spaces, several steps need to be taken to ensure everything continues to work properly.

Follow the steps below to comply with the new requirements:

Step 1: Activate the new integration in Aiden

In Aiden, go to Settings > Integrations and turn on the toggle for the Spotler Activate integration.

For clarity, we have renamed the old version of the integration to "Spotler Activate (legacy)," which should also remain enabled at this time.

After activating the new integration, it may take a few minutes before the events are actually sent. Therefore, wait about 5 minutes before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Trigger the new events

To be able to use the new events in Spotler Activate, they must be triggered at least once. In Spotler Activate, under data in the list of events in the past 7 days you can check to see if the new events have been received.

For example, if you're using Spotler Activate to email the advice, make sure to leave your email address at least once on an advice page to trigger the AidenFollowup event.

These are the names of the new events along with their old names and when the event is triggered.

AidenInfoPageFollowup

Once the events you use, for example in journeys, appear in the list of events in the last 7 days, you can proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Test the new events with a test product finder

If you use the integration to send emails, test the new events using these steps:

  1. Make a copy of an existing product finder, clearly indicating in the product finder name that it's a test product finder

  2. Copy the corresponding existing journey in Spotler Activate, also indicating in the name that it's a test

  3. Set the new event in the entry targeting of the new journey

  4. Add a rule to the entry targeting that checks that the custom_aiden_app_name data field must be equal to the name of the test product finder

  5. Publish the product finder and test if everything works correctly

Step 4: Copy and update the linked journeys and product sets

If the test connection works, you can implement this change for all existing Spotler Activate components linked to Aiden events. Copy all components that use the Aiden event. In these copies, you can then make adjustments so that the component works with the new integration.

Journeys

When an Aiden event is used in a journey's entry targeting, the event must be replaced with the new one. Note that you should use the custom_aiden_app_name field to filter it for the correct product finder.

Product sets

If you use product sets based on Aiden events, you should also create new versions of these. In the new product set, you then set the new event again. If you use this product set in personalizations, don't forget to also create a new version of these with the new product set.

Step 5: Publish new components and pause old ones

Now that everything is ready, you can publish the new journeys, product sets, and personalizations and pause the old ones.

Step 6: Turn off old integration in Aiden

The final step is to disable the old integration in Aiden. To do this, go to Settings > Integration in Aiden and turn off the toggle for Spotler Activate (legacy). After this, test once more to make sure your connection still works.
