Scripted Mode

Build a classic product finder with full control over the conversation and product advice.

Written by Daya Haverman

Scripted Mode is the classic way to guide shoppers step by step toward the right product. You build a fixed conversation flow, where the shopper selects an answer each time.

Every step in the conversation is predetermined. This means the shopper follows exactly the route you have set up, including the order of the questions, the answer options, and the product recommendations. The matching is also fully deterministic: the outcome is determined by your advisory logic and matching rules.

This makes Scripted Mode ideal when you want maximum control over the experience, the provided explanations, and the product recommendations.

Why Scripted Mode?

With Scripted Mode, you determine the entire customer journey, from the first question up until the final recommendation. The shopper clicks through a fixed flow, making the experience predictable, consistent, and easy to test.

This makes Scripted Mode especially suitable for product categories where a clear structure or visuals are important.

With Scripted Mode, you get:

  • Full control over the conversation flow

  • A 100% predictable shopper experience

  • Deterministic product recommendations

  • Space for images, info texts, and info pages

  • A click-through experience where shoppers make choices step by step

Scripted, Conversational, or Agentic?

Aiden offers three ways to provide product advice:

  • Scripted Mode: you control the conversation and the recommendations.

  • Conversational Mode: you control the recommendations, while AI makes the conversation feel more natural.

  • Agentic Mode: you define the frameworks and priorities, while AI conducts the conversation and helps with recommendations.

Scripted Mode offers the most control. Conversational Mode adds a more natural conversation layer, without free-text risk. Agentic Mode offers the most flexibility, for example for shoppers who want to ask their own follow-up questions.
